Yes, Hawkeye Hunting Club is open year round. Our bird hunting season is from October through March. Clay shooting is available year round as is fishing on our private lakes. The lodges are available for rent in the summer months for family reunions, corporate retreats and gatherings of friends.
If your dog is a trained bird hunting dog, we are glad to have him/her hunt with you. We ask that you either keep your dog in our kennels or crate them if they stay with you in the lodges. We discourage bringing personal pets as a courtesy to other guests.
For Full Service Lodging, our TABC license requires that we only serve liquors, beer, and wines purchased by Hawkeye Social Club. We are happy to provide you with our current wine and liquor inventory lists for your review. Special requests are taken with sufficient advance notice.
Clay shooting activities are available year round as is fishing on our private lakes. Most lodges have a pool table and all lodges have a games tables. firepits. Bird watchers enjoy looking for our bald eagles, hawks, herons and many other species.
We have five lodges with a total of 30 bedrooms. Twenty rooms have two queen beds and the other ten rooms have two XL full beds.
We have three conference rooms, one each at Lakeside, Hidden Pines and Manor (Main). Depending on table set up the rooms can accommodate from 20-40 people.
- Full-service lodging deposits will be refunded according to the following schedule:
- 30 plus days before arrival date – deposit will be applied to a future hunt/visit within one year of the original arrival date.
- 7-30 days before arrival date –one-half of the deposit is forfeited and the remainder will apply to a future hunt/visit within one year of the original arrival date.
- Less than 7 days of your arrival date, for reasons other than severe weather – the entire deposit is forfeited.
- If severe weather causes you to cancel, your entire deposit will be applied to a future hunt/visit within one year of the original arrival date.
- If you do not re-book within this stated one-year period, your deposit will be forfeited. Rain outs will be determined by Hawkeye Hunting Club management.
- Vacation deposits will be refunded according to the following schedule:
- 100% refund if cancelled 14 days or more prior to the check-in date.
- 50% refund if cancelled 7 to 13 days prior to check-in date.
- No refund if cancelled less than 7 days prior to check-in date

I’ve been going to Hawkeye for twenty eight years. Just when you think it couldn’t get any better, they blow you away. The staff is first class, lodging first class, guides first class but, the dogs are above first class! Especially Daisy! Hawkeye is the best!
Great People and Amazing Accomodations
My son and I were treated to three days and two nights of outdoors fun at Hawkeye – quail hunting, bass fishing, sporting clays, five-stand, even a pig hunt. Great people and amazing accommodations for a long weekend (or two weeks) in an amazing corner of East Texas. Ideal getaway for families or corporate groups.
